Yirgacheffe is a region in Sidamo, located in southern Ethiopia, known for producing many distinct and refined coffee varieties. Due to its fame, Yirgacheffe has been categorized separately from the Sidamo specialty coffee line.
The G2 grade is a lower quality segment compared to Specialty Coffee G1, yet it still maintains excellent quality thanks to the cultivation methods of Ethiopian farmers, unique soil conditions, and effective processing techniques, resulting in a delightful aftertaste.
Regarding the Heirloom variety: belonging to the Arabica family, Heirlooms translate to “the inheritors.” This term does not refer to a single coffee variety. In Ethiopia, many coffee varieties coexist in a single farm, showcasing the biodiversity of coffee cultivation.
The name “Heirlooms” highlights this phenomenon and signifies the origins of the first coffee beans from Ethiopia.
