Roasting Process
The CBR-101 employs a rotating drum mixing method that mimics manual roasting, ensuring even cooking of the coffee beans. It uses a glass roasting chamber heated indirectly by electric hot air, optimizing flavor extraction.

Steps for Roasting Coffee with the Gene Cafe CBR-101
- Measure Coffee: Weigh 250g of coffee beans to the indicated line. Use slightly less for freshly harvested coffee.
- Attach Chaff Collector: Install the chaff collection tube.
- Install Roasting Chamber: Attach the roasting chamber until you hear a “click.”
- Start the Machine: Turn on the machine using the green button (you can adjust the roasting time).
- Adjust Roasting Temperature: Set the desired roasting temperature.
- Begin Roasting: Press the red button to start roasting; you can observe the color change of the coffee beans over time.
- Cooling Mode: After automatic shut-off, the machine will switch to cooling mode with a fan for 10 minutes.
The machine will automatically stop roasting when the set time is reached. Alternatively, you can press the red knob gently to stop the heating, and pressing longer will halt the roasting chamber completely.
Capacity and Usage
With each batch of 250g, you can brew up to 30 cups of espresso, sufficient for family, friends, or a small café. The machine can operate continuously; however, it’s advisable to let it rest for 20–30 minutes after 2–3 batches to protect the motor.
Easy Maintenance
After each roasting session, you can easily disassemble the components, including the drum and chaff collector, for cleaning.
